Oval Gray Amyx was born in 1915 in Kentucky and lost his life during combat on July 2, 1944, in Normandy, France.
Oval Amyx was the son of James "Tony" Amyx and Edna Amyx. His parents were farmers. They lived with his father's sister and father in Magoffin County, Kentucky.
Oval Amyx enlisted on January 30, 1940, in Kentucky and joined a Signal Company.
He then volunteered for airborne troops and was sent to Company F of the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment.
His body rests in the cemetery of Magoffin County, Kentucky.
