Private First Class Glenn Ball was born in 1923 in Ohio and lost his life during combat on June 30, 1944, during the Normandy Airborne invasion.

His father, Glenn Ball, was a grain producer, and his mother was named Myrth Ball. The family had five children, with Glenn being the second. Before entering the war, Glenn had completed his studies, had a job in the railroads, and was married.

He was drafted on February 19, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio.

He volunteered for parachute troops and joined Company F of the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne.

Pfc Glenn Ball is buried in the American Cemetery of Normandy in Colleville-sur-Mer, France. Plot C, Row 23, Grave 17.
