Joseph Fletcher Hill was born on August 10, 1916 in Chattanooga in Tennessee. He died on October 22, 1944 during the operation airborne in Holland with Dodewaard.
He was Private within the section of demolition of the Company of HQ of the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne.
He was the son of Margaret and Ernest F. Hill. The family moved in Harriman in Tennessee. There it met his future wife, in 1935.
They moved in Ohio. His wife gave him two children, two girls.
