Private First Class Max E Schliemann     

 

Pfc Schliemann was born on July 16, 1913 in Hegbert, Minnesota and was killed in action January, 17 1945 in Belgium.

He was part of the Company I, 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment.

Max is the son of Albert J Schliemann and Louise W Schmidt.

The family has 15 children, Max had 8 brothers: Robert, Otto, Frederick "Fritz", Emil, Reinhard, Reuben, Leonard et Harley and 6 sisters: Anna, Emma, Olga, Ella, Rose et Alice.

The 1940 census of Granby, Nicolette County, MN shows Max residing at the Dolk farm with his brother Reinhard. They are working as hired hands at $350 per year.

No enlistment record was found for PFC Schliemann except that participated in Operation Neptune, June 6, 1944. He was aboard the C-47, 42-15217 Chalk: 64 and he was the eighth jump.

The Private First Class buried in Luxembourg American Cemetery: Plot F, Row 12, Grave 59.
