Corporal George H. Scharas     

Cpl Scharas was born in 1924 in Philadelphia and died on April 30th, 1945 in Germany.
He was a corporal in M Company of the 327th Glider Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division.
He was the youngest son of Arthur and Florence Scharas.

He also had 2 sisters and a brother.

He married his sweetheart, Doris Arinsberg (also from Philadelphia). A year later, a baby daughter, Doris was born in DeRidder, LA.

At the age of 21, on April 30, 1945, Cpl. Scharas died in an accident in Germany. A month after the accident - a couple of weeks after VE Day - his 18 year old wife was notified.
