Sergeant Vernon W "Pete" Rogers

 

Vernon W Rogers was born on November 25th, 1923 in Kentucky and died in the fight January 19th, 1945 during the "Battle of the Bulge".
He was a Sergeant in B Company of the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment.
His father, Virgil Rogers worked in the cotton industry, his mother was named Minnie Rogers. He also had 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Vernon W Rogers joined to the army on May 1st, 1942 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was then gratuated and left the secondary school.

Sgt Vernon Rogers was decorated with the Purple Heart, with the French Croix de guerre of the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with the Bronze Star service and Arrowhead, of the World War II Victory Medal, the Honorable WWII Lapel Button service. He also had his patent of Parachute, A Fight Infantryman Badge and Presidential Distinguished Unit Emblem.

Sgt Vernon Rogers is buried in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Section 3, 2010th site. Section 3, 2010th site.
