Private First Class Curtis B Lain Jr.

 

Curtis B Lain Jr was born on May 23rd, 1924 to Lakeland in Florida. He enguage on January 14th, 1941 in the army to Fort Screven in Georgia.
He will join the Battery A of the 462nd Parachute Field Artillery Battalion who is a part of the 503rd Regimental Combat Team.

The 503rd RCT was involved in the recapture of Corregidor.

February 26th, 1945, Lain's battery was involved in the cleaning of the enemy positions to Monkey Point who was stuffed with gallery protecting the Japanese defenders.
Without knowing the American Strengths, the Japanese collected a large number of explosive. In neighborhood of 11:00 am, a terrible explosion shook Monkey Point, killing approximately 50 soldiers notably Pfc Curtis Lain.

Curtis Lain was initially buried in the USAF Cemetery Mariveles #1 to Bataan.
Afterward, his body was repatriated in the United States to be buried to the Beaufort National Cemetery to Beaufort County in South Carolina, Plot 45, 256.
