Norbert "Norb" C Studelska

Norbert C. Studelska was born on 04/08/1925 on a small farm in Chamberlain, Canada, his parents immigrated to the United States ( Minnesota ) in 1920. In 1930 after the accidental death of his father (18 July 1930) "Norb" will live on the farm of his grandmother. In 1932 following the death of his grandmother he returned to Minnesota. From 1940 to 1943 he attended high school and refused military service because two of his brothers were already active in the military, Daniel in the "MARINES" and Peter in the "NAVY". His other brother Gregory and his sister Marcella are not military. Norb then enlisted as a volunteer in 1943 and was first assigned to the " NAVY " as the Coast Guard and then joined the "GI's" after, he was volunteering for the paratroopers. He obtained his patent May 20, 1944. Transferred in Europe, he arrived August 7, 1944 in Liverpool, England. As a replacement, he was sent to the D Company of the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He joined the 3rd mortar platoon (60mm) commanded by Sergeant Bob Lenell. He was Private.

On 08 May 1945 at the end of the war, he was still in Chartres. June 10, 1945, when he went to Frankfurt, Germany and was assigned to guard the Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces, General Eisenhower's honor guard. In December he movement Havre and then Tideworth where he spent Christmas. December 27, 1945, he boarded the Queen Mary for her return to the USA. After the war he returned to school and finished his studies, he was married on 12.27.1943 with Elaine and they had 7 children and 12 grandchildren. Victoria was born October 7, 1950. She married John Withey. They have 2 children, Devin 23 years and 22 years Britten Norbert Jr. was born October 10, 1951. He married Gina Marrese. They have two children, Dustin 17 and Madeline 15. Veronica was born August 27, 1953. She married Gary Leistikow. They have two children, Elliot 19 and April 16. Nicholas was born January 11, 1955. Remained a bachelor, he passed away in April 1, 2003. Michael was born March 31, 1958. He married Marybeth Grasso. They have three children, Alexander 16, Gabriana 14, Carlissa 9 years. Elaine Jr. was born June 14, 1960 (FLAG DAY). She married James Bohan. They have one child, Chase 9. Maria was born on 28 January 1967. She married Peter Mielach . They have two children , Samantha 16, Elyse 10 years. Norb is very proud of his family and his devoted Elaine who died in April 2008 wife. He remained in Grafton, Wisconsin and is actively involved in local activities. This member of the school board from 1959 to 1992 and 10 years as president. His son Norbert Jr. took over after him. Norb was 6 years auditor assessment tax and is a member of the parish of St. Joseph Grafton where he is involved in various activities also. He now spends a lot of time at the veterans' association and its activities are centered around the 508th PIR, vice president from 1995 to 1996, then President from 1996 to 1999 and again vice-president from 2003 to 2004. He is and will always be "ALL AMERICAN , ALL THE WAY "... Norb was elected "Man of the Year" in Grafton in 2010.
