It is August 5, 1917, the 307th Supply Train was constituted for the first time. This unit was assigned to the 82nd Infantry Division. The unit was organized at Camp Gordon, Georgia in October 1917 to help support the division during the WWI. For his work during the First War, the 307th was awarded 3 "Campaign Streamers" for St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne and Lorraine.

On May 9, 1919, the 307th was demobilized at Camp Dix, New Jersey.

After almost 17 years, September 17, 1936, the 307th was reconstituted as a reserve unit then redrafted 407th Regiment Quatermaster but still assigned to 82nd Infantry Division. (Soon re-designated as 82nd Airborne)

After entry into the war the United States, the unit was reorganized and re-designated, February 13, 1942, Quatermaster in 407th Battalion and was activated March 25, 1942 at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana.

It was reorganized and re-designated 407th Quatermaster Company August 15, 1942.

D-Day, the 407th arrived in Normandy in two parts. The first in glider and the second in boat.

The team landed in a glider June 6 at 21:15 a.m. to set up a temporary camp on the outskirts of Blosville a short distance from Ste Mere Eglise.
