To facilitate the identification of the various components of the 101st, of the initials were painted on the helmets. (Symbols of the charts to be played for the component infantry) above, you will find these marks for the various regimental units.

To also note that certain unit for a fast identification, used a white piece of fabrics around the neck, armpit or elbow. Lastly, the invention of the metal crickets for the identification the night of June 6 is the work of the Taylor General.

If this one were lost, the password was "Flash" to which were to be answered "Thunder".

The cricket is employed exclusively by the 101st!

The movie "The Longest Day" presenting of the men of the 82nd with crickets is an error...
